Week 3 – Gentle Oatmeal Body Scrub

This weeks make does not involve any sewing (you’ll be very pleased to hear) and really is easy peasy.  Get the kids involved and get them making jars of body scrub for nan, auntie or even their school teachers.  If you’re involved in a Christmas Fair this year this would make a lovely gift to sell.

Okay, here’s what you need (and it’s a very small list) -

1 cup of finely ground oatmeal
8 drops of lavender essential oil, 8 drops of Sweet Orange essential oil (you can use any fragrances you may have)
1 tsp dried lavender petals (this is optional but I think it looks lovely and adds a special touch)
Various jars, kilner jars, jam jars

Ok so grab yourself a bowl and pour in the oatmeal and add the essential oils drop by drop but keep stirring to avoid clumps.

When all the oil has been absorbed add your dried lavender petals.  It is then ready to be put into jars. (I did say it was easy!)

Find yourself a nice jar , some come with labels ready to use or you can easily make your own.  As we are going to put a bit of floral fabric on the top jam jars will be ok.

The lavender petals make it look really pretty.

You can then cut round a saucer or plate and add a lovely colourful lid to the top and then tie off with a bit of ribbon or lace.

You can use little brown luggage labels or make your own but you want to put on it what’s inside and what you do with it.

So give this a go – it’s probably the quickest make I am gonna do!

Next week is vintage cakestands!
